UFC shifts a couple of events

Luke Rockhold and Paulo Costa will no longer be fighting at UFC 277 on July 30.

According to the reports, The Schmo, Rockhold vs Costa, has been moved to August 20, which is UFC 278. The event is expected to take place in Salt Lake City, Utah. The news also comes just hours after Rockhold did an interview with Submission Radio, who ripped the Brazilian for trying to delay their fight.

“He’s trying to delay the fight again to August 20. This guy is … something’s going on behind the scenes,” Rockhold said about Costa on Submission Radio. “I don’t know what you’re doing over there, Caitlin… The contract was signed, and now he’s trying to move it again, making room for all these detailed things that he’s working on. “

Luke Rockhold (16-5) hasn’t fought since UFC 239 in July of 2019 as he moved up to light heavyweight and suffered a KO loss to Jan Blachowicz. Prior to that, he suffered a KO loss to Yoel Romero for the interim middleweight title, his last win was over David Branch by TKO in 2017.

Paulo Costa (13-2) is on a two-fight losing streak and coming off a decision loss to Marvin Vettori back in October. In the fight prior, he suffered a TKO loss to Israel Adesanya for the interim title. He also holds notable wins over Yoel Romero, Johny Hendricks, and Uriah Hall.

Orion Cosce vs Blood Diamond scrapped from UFC 275

Orion Cosce (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) vs Blood Diamond (3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) has been scratched from the June 11 event in Singapore.

Cosce subsequently took to social media to address the news that the matchup has fallen apart for the second consecutive time after their initial meeting at UFC 271 was cancelled.

Cosce, a Dana White Contender Series graduate, suffered his first-career loss in his promotional debut when he was stopped by Phil Rowe at UFC on ESPN 28 last July.

Diamond also fell short in his UFC debut. The City Kickboxing fighter was submitted in the first round by Jeremiah Wells, who replaced Cosce this past February at UFC 271.
